Dear Parents,
I will be conducting Oral and Listening Comprehension lessons during the March and June holidays to prepare the students in their listening comprehension and oral exams. Students will be provided with numerous hand-outs on the tips and techniques to score well in these two papers.
For the oral paper, the focus of these sessions will focus on:
- Pronunciation and articulation
- Fluency and rhythm
- Appropriate expression
- Personal response in oral conversation
- Clarity of expression in oral conversation
- Engagement in conversation
For listening comprehension, I will give a variety of texts which may be in the forms of news, announcements, advertisements, instructions, and conversations. Most of the test items require higher order thinking skills and these will be discussed in the class.
In addition, students will also be doing speed-reading in the class. I will be providing a variety of texts to better their skills in answering comprehension questions.
As I only take in a maximum of two students per lesson, do book the available time-slots early. Many thanks.
